Virtual Book Tour Podcast (Book of the Month)

my accomplishments

I was contacted about this job through an audio editor I worked with before. the job was to help BOTM turn their live author interviews into podcast episodes that could be shared with their members all over the world. here is how I helped:

  • helped start this podcast from the ground up

  • through my podcast production expertise and collaboration with the fabulous BOTM team, we were able to give this podcast a very distinct voice that also fit with the BOTM brand (a little bit of cussing, lots of humor, and a touch of pulling at your heartstrings)

  • my love of books and podcasting has come together to produce one great podcast

  • because I listen to so many podcasts, I know what to cut and how to rearrange an episode if needed to sound the best to the listener

my role as producer/content editor

my work on this podcast includes:

  • listening through full hour-long interviews and cutting them down to 20–30-minute podcast episodes

  • communicating with audio editor about any audio discrepancies, cuts, and/or rearrangements to help with the flow of the episode

  • draft show notes to be approved by BOTM team

  • highlight small sections and pass along timestamps to video team to make a 1-minute teaser trailer

Metamuse Podcast (Muse App)

my accomplishments

I was contacted by this company to help them write episode descriptions, link all the important topics they covered, and note any audio discrepancies. they were connected with me through the audio editor I work so closely with. here is how I helped:

  • helped get each episode out on time every other week

  • took work off of the hosts’ hands to free up some of their time

  • was an extra ear to bounce ideas off of and make sure each episode was as clean as possible

my role as post-production specialist

my work on this podcast includes:

  • listening through full hour-long interviews and noting any audio discrepancies

  • created audiograms to be shared on social media (primarily through X - formerly Twitter)

  • draft show notes to be approved by Metamuse team

YAP media

my accomplishments

as senior podcast producer, I led a team of eight associate producers. i was in charge of three clients and their podcasts. between the three of them, they had over 2M total downloads. while at YAP, this is what i accomplished:

  • grew a podcast from having around 200 listens per episode to over 2k listens per episode

  • worked with a video editor to redesign graphics for sharable micro content

  • produced two episodes for a client that got the most listens since i arrived at YAP

  • took a client from releasing four episodes per month to six episodes per month

  • grew the YAP production team from myself and three associate producers to a team of eight

my role as senior podcast producer

at this company, I was able to:

  • monetize a podcast using media buys on popular podcast platforms like player.fm and castbox

  • make sense of podcast analytics and create next steps to grow podcasts

  • write in-depth research documents with thought-provoking questions

  • learn more about running a business since all of my clients were powerful business women

  • work in a fast-paced startup atmosphere in a client-facing role

These were the podcasts I worked on:

how the f**k did you get that job?

editing/producing

i edit each episode, going through the raw audio with a fine tooth comb to take out unnecessary pauses and filler words. i do try and keep the integrity of the conversational nature of the podcast, so i don’t make it sound too forced or too rehearsed. i edit three episodes a week.

social media

i also help run the social media accounts for this podcast, helping create content and push out posts. we have 900 followers on instagram and we just started on tiktok. i write the social copy in addition to scheduling posts and working with graphic designers to design new posts.
